This APP works with Nora’s smart sock sensor to track your baby’s status. The sensor is designed to be placed on the baby’s foot and it tracks the baby’s heart rate, foot temperature, sleep quality, and sleeping position.
The heart rate is measured by a PPG sensor integrated into the Nora Sensor. The heart rate reading is available only when the baby is not wiggling for more than 30 seconds. In other words, the heart rate reading is more continuous during sleeping. When the heart rate is out of the range of 80 - 160BPM, the APP will trigger a local alert (iPhone push notification). The heart rate alert can be triggered when you feed the baby. It's normal that the baby's heart rate would increase during feeding. Allowed by Apple, the heart rate alert can override Do-Not-Disturb mode. It is capable of producing alarming sounds on your iPhone in the middle of the night. The heart rate alert can be turned off in the App. You can also disable 'Critical Alert' in the iPhone settings so the alert will comply with the Do-Not-Disturb.
The sleep position is measured by an Accelerometer integrated into the Nora sensor. It estimates the body’s position and orientation. Accordingly, it tries to detect the baby is on-back or on-stomach. Newborn babies should always sleep on their backs. The APP will trigger a local alert (iPhone push notification) if the baby rolls over on its stomach. Hugging the baby is also considered as an on-stomach, which would also trigger the alert. The on-stomach alert can override your iPhone settings like the Do-Not-Disturb. It would produce alarming sound in the middle of the night. When your baby is old enough to learn roll-over, it's recommended to turn off the sleep position alert.
The foot temperature is measured by the sensor contacting the baby’s foot. If the baby is feeling hot or cold, the temperature on feet and hands changes firstly. Give it 10min for the temperature reading to fully settle down. When the temperature is out of the range of 90 - 98F, the APP will trigger a local alert (iPhone push notification). The temperature notification complies with iPhone settings like the silent mode or the Do-Not-Disturb.
The sleeping history gives you an overlook of the baby’s sleeping pattern. You will be able to review how many hours did the baby sleep and was awake. You will find interesting things, for example, it's different every day and it changes with the baby’s age.
We understand the privacy matters, so all data is transferred from the sensor to your iPhone locally over Bluetooth. Every single bit of data stays on your iPhone locally. No internet is required.
